The music of Taila combines traditional songs and contemporary folk music with the spirited reels and jigs of Irish musical tradition. Multi-part vocals meet masterful instrumental artistry, performed on fiddles, flutes, uilleann pipes, accordion, Irish bouzouki, and piano. Together, this creates a unique soundscape that captivates listeners.
Although the Celtic-Folk band Taila is just now making its debut in the scene, the members are no strangers to the stage, having already performed in various renowned ensembles. The older band members are all professional musicians who bring their years of experience to the group. The younger members have already gained extensive stage experience and musical accolades at an early age. Sandra and Claus Steinort were founding members of the internationally successful band CARA, while Barbara Coerdt co-founded the band More Maids, which emerged from the same musical scene. The younger generation consists of the siblings Marisa and Amalia Steinort, who have already played in the Clare Youth Orchestra in Ireland and the Jugendfolkorchester in Rudolstadt.
